m6 : HP Pavilion

The good: The HP Pavilion m6 adds some high-end details from HP's more expensive laptops, while keeping the price down. This is a highly configurable system, with options for discrete graphics and fast CPUs.
The bad: This is just not as solidly built as HP's Envy laptops. The keyboard isn't great, and the low screen resolution feels clunky on a 15-inch laptop.
The bottom line: This near-ultrabook packs in processing and graphics power, along with an optical drive, at a reasonable price. The only real knock against the Pavilion m6 is that some of HP's higher-end systems hardly cost more.

LG Motion 4G

The good: The LG Motion 4G from MetroPCS is a prepaid, reasonably priced handset with Android 4.0 and a zippy dual-core CPU.
The bad: The Motion 4G comes packed with a lot of bloatware, and its sound quality is mediocre.
The bottom line: MetroPCS' LG Motion 4G is worth it for price-conscious customers who want a contract-free 4G LTE-enabled device, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and a swift processor.

Best advanced compact cameras

You might already own an SLR, but would like the convenience of a smaller camera. On the other hand, you might just be getting into photography, and want a camera that will grow with you as your skills improve. Here are some of the most competent compacts for advanced photographers, and anyone looking for a little more control.
All of the cameras listed below have manual controls, allowing you to set exposure accordingly. Although they don't have the flexibility of interchangeable lenses like their SLR cousins, some have extra goodies, like hotshoes.
Others have huge zooms and an array of extra accessories like teleconverters to add a more professional shooting feel.
If you're a fan of shooting video, all of these cameras are very capable recorders, able to capture full HD in most cases. It's also worth checking about the ability to add an external microphone as an optional extra if better audio quality is important to you.

Nokia launches 'last chance' phone

Published on Sep 5, 2012 by Euronews : Nokia is unveiling its most powerful smartphone ever on Wednesday in what may be the struggling Finnish company's last major shot at winning back a market lost to Apple, Samsung and Google.

The stakes are high for both Nokia and Microsoft. The new Lumia runs the latest Windows Phone operating software which Microsoft hopes will rival Apple's iOS and Google's Android which currently dominate the market. If the new phones do not appeal to consumers, it could spell the end for loss-making Nokia and deal a serious blow to Microsoft's attempts to regain its footing in the market.

Nokia has posted more than three billion euros in operating losses in the past 18 months, forcing it to cut 10,000 jobs and pursue asset sales. Its share of the global smartphone market has plunged to less than 10 percent from 50 percent during its heyday, before the iPhone was launched in 2007. Windows phones have only captured 3.7 percent of the global smartphone market, according to Strategy Analytics. Android phones have 68 percent, while Apple has 17 percent.

The FBI disputes an AntiSec claim that it stole personal identification data on more than 1 million Apple device owners from a US agent's laptop.

The FBI is disputing a computer hacker group's claim that it stole personal identification data on more than 1 million Apple device owners from an FBI agent's laptop.
The FBI says it never asked for and never possessed the database that the group, which calls itself AntiSec, is posting on a website.
The group released a link to a database of more than 1 million Apple device identification numbers.
Federal officials are warning that computer users should be careful when clicking on such links because they may contain malware that can infect computers.
AntiSec is a hacker group affiliated with Anonymous, a collection of internet-savvy activists who have targeted governments, officials or corporations over a variety of political grievances.
Apple did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
